Vicar's Message
For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery.
Galatians. 5:1
Greetings to Everyone!
Hope this letter finds you in good spirits.
We are called to enjoy the glorious freedom of conscience which Christ has brought us by his
forgiveness. In Gal: 1 Paul depicts our former way of life before salvation. Wearing a yoke of bondage
is a fitting metaphor to this slavery because a person bound by a yoke must obey his master. Jesus
Christ has lifted the yoke of bondage from our shoulders and placed on them his own yoke, one that
describes obedience and discipleship. Jesus says - Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I
am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls .For my yoke is easy and my
burden is light (Matt 11 29-30)
Once again I congratulate the newly elected office bearers and committee members.
Thomas George (Vice-President), Roy Jacob (Secretary) , Roshan John (Asst. Secretary), Mathew
Thomas (Trustee), Subi John Abraham (Trustee-Accounts), Joby K. Baby , Jithin Cherian , George
Thomas, Shijo Thomas (Lay Ministrants ), Joseph Iype (Karunya Secretary), Abey George (Karunya
Treasurer), the Office bearers of each organisations, Prayer Group Leaders and Roy Mathew (MMDF
Convenor).
We remember the families who are grieving – the families of Shinu & Neethu , Pramode & Manju ,
Pradeesh & Nikita and Beena Liju. Also remember in prayer the family of our Diocesan Episcopa-
Thirumeni who had lost his brother recently.
A special word of appreciation to the Sunday School Family for conducting the Junior Retreat
impeccably and for organising a Food Sale fundraiser for the scheduled Sunday School Senior Camp.
By the grace of God, we completed the parish election process. I take this opportunity to thank
everyone who worked hard for the same.
Let us be united and be consistent in the mission, purpose, culture, plan and apostolic identity. Insist on
excellence. Insist that we all do very well what is assigned to us. Take church seriously. Let us together
have a long term vision and short term goals.
Let us put off the old self with its deceit and corruption and put on the new self with its righteousness.
Put off bitterness, rage and anger and put on kindness, compassion and forgiveness. Let us not put the
chains of bondage of sin back on.
We are free from the power and penalty of sin and are promised eternity by Christ.
Shalom,
