Vicar Message - February 2026
February 8 2026
Greetings to you all in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ
Focused Faith
As we journey through February, let\'s anchor our hearts in the One who holds our tomorrow. \'Let\'s fix our eyes on Jesus, the source of unwave...
Finding Hope in Lent
As we approach Great Lent, beginning February 15th, let\'s heed the call to \'seek the Lord while he may be found\' (Isaiah 55:6). This sacred season invites us to set apart time for Bible reading, meditation, and prayer, letting go of distractions that hinder our walk with God. \'Come, let us return to the Lord; for he has torn us, that he may heal us; he has struck us down, and he will bind us up\' (Hosea 6:1). Let\'s use this Lent to draw closer to God, embracing His love and transformation. Why not host prayer meetings in our homes during Great Lent? Let\'s gather, pray, and share God\'s word together, supporting one another as we draw closer to Christ. Let\'s make our homes a haven for prayer and reflection, and experience God\'s presence in a deeper way. Your presence matters - let\'s join together in prayer and uplift each other. Please mark your calendars and join us.
Festive Harvest
Our Harvest Festival is just around the corner - Sunday, February 22nd, after Holy Communion. It\'s a time to come together as a community and celebrate the blessings of the harvest season. We\'re calling on all parishioners to get involved and make it a success. If we can bring items to sell, please do - baked goods, crafts, fresh produce, or anything else you think others would love. Let\'s showcase our talents and generosity. We\'ll also have food, games, and great company. Let\'s work together to make it a memorable one.
Flourishing Together
A Special General Body meeting will be held on Sunday, February 15th, immediately after Holy Communion. This meeting is crucial as we\'ll be electing Mandalam and Zonal Assembly representatives who will serve our church and community. We urge all members to attend and participate in this important process. Let\'s prayerfully consider and elect leaders who will guide us towards growth, unity, and service.
Faithful prayers
The Maramon Convention is just around the corner, kicking off on February 15th. It\'s a time of spiritual renewal and growth for the community. Let\'s come together in prayer, seeking blessings and guidance for all attendees, speakers, and organizers. May this year\'s convention be a powerful experience, bringing people closer to God and inspiring us to spread love, hope, and kindness. Let\'s pray that the messages shared bring transformation, healing, and a deeper connection with our faith.
Fellowship and growth
As we prepare to receive the Holy Communion, let\'s take a moment to reflect on our faith and renew our commitment to God. We\'re blessed with multiple opportunities to participate in this sacred service - join us at our Service at Main church, or visit our Satellite services at Blackburn, Bundoora, and Werribee. And for those with busy schedules, don\'t miss our Karunya Holy Communion service, held every 3rd Saturday at 4:30pm at church - it\'s a perfect chance to pause, worship, and experience God\'s love and grace. Let\'s come together in reverence and gratitude, and let our worship be a testament to our faith.
Fruitful Giving
Our Trustees have shared an important note in the newsletter about monthly subscriptions, offertory, and other contributions. Your generosity fuels our community\'s growth and service. Every donation helps us spread love, support those in need, and continue our mission. Let\'s give wholeheartedly and be a blessing to others.
As we journey through February, let\'s hold onto God\'s promise: \'I can do all this through him who gives me strength\' (Philippians 4:13). Let\'s support each other, give generously, and fix our eyes on Jesus.
With Love and Prayers,
Philipachen.
